Texas DOT, Texas Transportation Plan 2050

High Street led the development of the Texas Transportation Plan 2050 (TTP 2050), along with scenario analysis for the plan. High Street worked with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to define alternative future scenarios built around broad external factors that would have a long-term impact on the transportation system, namely technology development and the global economy. High Street led the consultant team to quantify assumptions around these external factors and to research their transportation effects, which allowed for the development of multimodal performance forecasts for different configurations of these external factors and under different TxDOT investment strategies. High Street led and supported modeling performance changes under these external factors and investment scenarios for the various program areas. The outputs of the process provided TxDOT with a vision of trade-offs among investment strategies and identified areas of transportation system performance at risk under alternative futures.
