Kansas DOT, Pavement Asset Management Planning

In response to an urgent request from the Secretary prior to a legislative session, High Street developed a predictive pavement asset planning tool around a new performance metric more indicative of structural integrity. In under two months, High Street generated optimized performance vs. investment level curves and work plans. The analysis involved evaluating actions based both on whole-life cost-efficacy and risk mitigation. The High Street PM met weekly with KDOT pavement engineers to understand and enhance current capabilities while vetting all assumptions. High Street’s approach accelerated the timeframe for making performance-based decisions prior to selecting a PMS vendor.
