Idaho Transportation Department, MIRE Schema Development and Data Strategy

To help the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) respond to new federal Model Inventory of Roadway Elements (MIRE) data collection requirements, High Street led a project to assess gaps in ITD’s existing inventory, establish a database schema to store all new required elements, and assessed and provided recommendations among alternative approaches to filling existing gaps in MIRE data. Methods assessed include field data collection, statistical imputation, vendor-provided extraction from aerial imagery using AI, crowdsourcing, and aggregation from local agencies.
